Slateman 2014 details

Entries to the 2014 Snowdonia Slateman Triathlon open at 00:01 on Monday 22nd July 2013. The great reputation of this event is growing year on year – the 2013 event sold out five months before the actual event and the 2014 Slateman is expected to be evenmore popular. This year’s entry limits have been set at 1,200 competitors for the Full Slateman and 500 for the Sprint, meaning 1700 triathletes will descend on Llanberis for a full weekend of triathlon action.

The Slateman Triathlon is fast being recognised as one of the best triathlons in the UK. This year’s sell-out Slateman Triathlon was an outstanding success and was shortlisted as one of the BestEvents in Wales at the 2013 National Tourism for Wales Awards. Event organisers, Always Aim High Events, intend to build on this success by making the 2014 event even more impressive.

The 4th annual Slateman Triathlon will, for the first time, be held over two days on the weekend of 17th -18th May 2014. The Slateman Sprint race and the children’s races will be held on the Saturday and the Full Slateman will be held on the Sunday. As always the race will start and finish in the beautiful village of Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon. The open water swim will be held in the idyllic Llyn Padarn, while the cycle will take riders over the infamous Llanberis pass to Capel Curig and along the spectacular Ogwen Valley. Finally, the trail run will wind through the magnificent Dinorwig Slate Quarries and Padarn Country Park, making this possibly one of the most beautiful triathlons in the UK.

In addition to producing an incredible sporting event, Always Aim High Events are dedicated to giving the SlatemanTriathlon Weekend a festival feel, which will be enjoyed by both competitors and the local community alike. The 2014 Slateman Weekend will feature a host of live music, displays, activities and other attractions that the whole family can enjoy.
