If you missed out on a spot at this year’s hugely popular Ironman UK, don’t worry – a new long distance triathlon has just been announced for Northumberland.

Kielder Triathlon will take place on 6 July in the Kielder Water and Forest Park, and start with a 3.8km open-water swim in Kielder Water, followed by a 180km bike leg through rugged border country and alongside Hadrian’s Wall, finishing with a 42km trail marathon around the full circuit of the Lakeside Way.

There will also be a relay category open to teams of three, open for male, female & mixed teams. Full details of the event can be found at www.highterrainevents.co.uk.
