Milton Keynes to host UK’s first TriStar

Pro triathletes Ben Howard, Phil Graves and Lucy Gossage on the start line on Sunday

On Sunday 29 July TriStar will hold its first event in Great Britain centrally located in Milton Keynes.

Some well known British professional athletes will start the competition at the Emberton Park Lake, such as Ben Howard, Phil Graves (youngest ever Ironman Champion) and Lucy Gossage (Ironman 70.3 Galway 2011 winner).

TriStar races attract professional athletes from other sports, as many Formula 1 drivers normally participate in TriStar Monaco. In Milton Keynes spectators will be able to see the swim-bike-run performance of one of the best Moto2 riders – Bradley Smith will compete the inaugural TriStar111 Milton Keynes.

More than 350 triathletes will be lined up on the start line. The centre point for the Tristar111 Milton Keynes will be Emberton Park. The swim will take place in the Emberton Park lake in a single loop. The bike will lead the athletes in three loops on undulating country roads, experiencing a wonderful countryside. The 10k run on the end will again take place in the Emberton Park so that athletes and spectators can share a unique atmosphere on July 29.

There will be also a TriStar33.3, and a Relay Challenge (over the TriStar111 distance), ideal for beginners and experienced triathletes who can now enjoy the new spirit of this well known fun format which offers an easy recovery for the athletes.

It is being jointly organized by Star Events and Big Cow Events. Leaderboards, updates, videos and images are at www.tristarlive.com.
