Great North Swim teams up with Together Trust

The Together Trust has linked up with the Great North Swim, a one-mile open water swim taking place in England’s largest natural lake – Lake Windermere – on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September.

The Great North Swim is the first event of its kind in the UK and the Together Trust, one of the North West’s largest charities that provides support, education and improved life opportunities for young people, is delighted to be one of the official charity partners.

Swimmers of all abilities are invited to make a splash for the charity. In exchange for a place in the swim, each participant is asked to raise a minimum of £150 in sponsorship. Due to the cost of entry, applicants must also make a donation of £30 to secure their place.

Victoria Goring, community fundraising and events officer at the Together Trust, said: “We really need to raise some much needed funds for the Together Trust, so by linking up with the Great North Swim we are hoping to attract members of the public to get involved and help us raise some money. The money raised from this event will make a huge difference to the lives of the children, young people and adults we care for.”

To enquire about registration costs or for further information about getting involved please contact Victoria Goring on 0161 283 4883 or email: victoria.goring@togethertrust.org.uk.

The Together Trust (www.togethertrust.org.uk) helps more than 1400 children and young people each year, who are experiencing emotional, behavioural or social difficulties, physical and learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders.
