Challenge coming to the UK

Long-distance race organiser seals deal for UK race

We’ve just received news that the UK is set to stage a Challenge race, realistically in 2011.

The team behind Roth (including organiser Felix Walchshoefer) and the blossoming Challenge events in France, Spain, Denmark, Austria and New Zealand have confirmed that Just Racing UK, led by Alan Rose, is looking for a suitable venue to stage a long-distance Challenge race.

Just Racing UK currently organise a number of events inlcuding the Roade and Northampton triathlons, and The Beaver Triathlon, a middle-distance event in the shadows of Belvoir Castle, Leicestershire. See next issue (247), out on 4 May for our bike test on the Beaver bike course.

No location for the race has yet been confirmed but word on the street is that it will be a brand-new event and not simply a case of rebranding a current race.
