Review: Endurance Junkie Olympic tri-suit

High quality and sure to make you stand out in transition with its 'Carbon Power Lycra', but better suited for those racing short course

Straight out of the box (and a very cool box it is too), the Olympic from Belgium’s Endurance Junkie is an instantly striking suit and one, given the brand’s underground status, that’ll make you stand out in transition from the ubiquitous brands of tri.

But this is no bimbo either as there’s substance behind the looks, with the black ‘Carbon Power Lycra’ purporting to lower body temp, slow heart rate and reduce the build-up of lactic acid. While we can’t scientifically verify this claim, the suit kept our temp noticeably consistent at the sprint Forest of Dean Tri; proving quick-drying after the swim and cool on some lung-busting bike and run efforts.

The padded, perforated chamois was comfortable for the short, sharp bike leg (with some longer training rides also resulting in a happy bottom), while the gripper-less legs kept neatly in place.

But is this suit for you? Well, the back zipper and lack of pockets make this ideal for pool and ITU races, but if, like us, you like a gel or two as back-up, we’d suggest looking at their unique, pocketed Sportswool suit.
