Muc-Off Dry Shower

An upgrade to the 'festival shower', this alcohol-free spray is a welcome addition to any kit bag

Answering the call of every relative who’s shared a post-race car journey with a smelly triathlete is the Dry Shower from Muc-Off. An upgrade to the ‘festival shower’ (a quick wet wipe down), this pH balanced and alcohol-free liquid solution transforms into foam when applied onto the body and is said to kill any pong-causing bacteria.

On test, in the office after lunchtime runs – once we got over the fact that we were nude, covered in foam, in a cupboard and in close proximity to (former) colleagues – the formulation proved effective on our skin and was quick-drying enough to be used without a towel.

It isn’t marketed as such but we tried it on our hair as well with limited success. For when the shower’s broken or on race day when the queue for the porta-showers is akin to Topshop’s Boxing Day sales, however, this Dry Shower will become a welcome and long-lasting addition to the kit bag. What’s more, we’ll be supplementing our income by selling it at inflated prices outside Glastonbury.
