K-Swiss K-Ruuz

K-Swiss has carved out a niche in the traithlon market over the last few years with its new range of shoes and high-profile signings.

Our initial impression of its fastest racing flat was mixed. The bowling shoe aesthetic isn’t the best, but looking closer we were pleasantly surprised. The exceptionally low profile with small section of medial pronation control keeps foot strike efficient. The road feel is solid and stable, with great feedback from the terrain underfoot.

Any worries about the low-profile sole are unfounded, certainly for the lighter athlete anyway, as they remain comfy and perform well even on longer runs.

The upper is simple and secure with some nice detailed air vents offering good breathability for summer – a feature that’s carried through to the sole. We love the fast feel, secure ride and minimalist detail on these shoes, and if it’s PBs you’re after this season they’re a top choice.
