Asics Gel 3000

Asic’s 2000 series has been hugely popular among over-pronators for many years, while the Kayano has received many plaudits as Asics’ flagship shoe. The 3000 sits between the two and is well worth a look.

It’s less responsive than the 2130, but offers more support and cushioning. It also has less protection than the £115 Kayano, but there’s as much as most runners will need, even when clocking up high mileages.

So you get good cushioning, effective support and guidance, a comfortable fit and a smooth transition from heel strike to toe-off.

In fact, if you’re a 2000 series fan, you might want to switch to the 3000 for logging the miles, alongside a pair of lighter-weight shoes for faster work.
