Asics DS Trainer 13

The DS Trainer straddles that line between racer and lightweight. It offers cushioning and support while feeling as responsive as some pure racers. While this isn’t as substantial as on some shoes, you do get a springy feeling from heel to toe-off from the Gel and Solyte midsole.

Good midfoot stability and guidance for overpronators comes from the Impact Guidance System, including a DuoMax medial post and Space Trusstic midfoot shank.

The fit at the toes is tighter than on other Asics shoes, which may affect sizing. Otherwise, the upper hugs your foot well, allowing you to get up on your forefoot and really drive the pace. Overall, lightweight and race ready, but at the higher end of the price scale for a racer.
