Can their first foray into run clothing deliver the goods?

Huub training top and shorts review

While the black colour scheme would suggest otherwise, the tee does a remarkably good job in the heat and, despite the close fit, sweat doesn’t stick to your body – this is where the mesh panels really get to work, making for a very pleasant run.

At first glance, the shorts’ fabric doesn’t look as comfortable or sweat-wicking as similarly-priced competitors, but any concerns were quickly dismissed as they felt light and comfy right to the end of a sticky 15km trail run.

A roomy zip pocket was also a neat touch. A minor niggle is the waistband – we experienced some rubbing around the hips and the elastic seemed to bunch up slightly, but this is nothing a little Vaseline can’t solve.

All in all, it’s an impressive first foray into run clothing from the tri specialists.

Verdict: Well-fitting, practical and – waistband issue aside – comfy, 90%
