Science Fitness Glyco Source review

Based on research carried out at Leeds Metropolitan University (who are behind the product), Glyco Source recovery drink aims to promote maximum glycogen (stored carbohydrate) synthesis in the muscles and the liver.

Blended with whey proteins, the carb content comes from a mix of maltodextrin and (unusually) galactose, with studies showing galactose to be especially good at glycogen replenishment in the liver.

One 25g sachet makes up 500mls, with the result being a light, refreshing and tangy taste, albeit with a slightly odd aftertaste. If there’s a significant downside, it’s cost; £24 only buys you 300g, which certainly isn’t cheap.

Verdict: Advanced and high-tech formulation with a decent taste, 86%
