MET Estro

The sharply styled 308g Estro is no generic jelly mould design, but its airy fit needs looking after.

With its push-button ratchets, the skeletal cradle gives an immediately comfortable, sweat- and pressure-free fit. Medium and large shell sizes should give a decent close fit for most riders, too.

Big vents covering deep ribs mean a decent amount of airflow into the helmet at all speeds. While internal channelling is limited, there’s plenty of exhaust pull at the back to suck sweaty air out as the pace hots up.

Super-skinny Coolmax pads leave as much head exposed as possible. And while they get wet fast, they never store so much juice that you suffer from salty helmet drip.

The actual helmet needs careful treatment, as there’s no wraparound on the hardshell and ours picked up small dents very quickly. The very pronounced, low front edge also really interferes with upper peripheral vision.
