Nalini Valeggio

The Valeggio is a lightweight, packable ‘race cape’ that’s ideal to have in your back pocket and stick on when the weather turns.

Its water resistance appeared good, although you do start to cook in it after a while, just like many jackets in this category. The seams aren’t taped and there are no additional vents to keep you cool.

Fit was fantastic, though, with a figure-hugging silhouette proving both extremely comfortable and aerodynamic. Indeed, as soon as you put the jacket on you forgot about it.

It’s a simple design, but still contained an internal pocket with a tab to attach your keys – nice. Zip quality is reasonable with a mid-sized pull, making adjustments easy even in gloves.

The clear colour would also make it suitable for use in races as your race number and club kit could still be clearly identified.
