Montane Featherlite Vélo

At just 125g the Montane Featherlite Vélo shouldn’t have any problems with trading standards.

Its light weight means it packs up into nothing, making this an ideal jacket to stuff in your pocket “just in case”. It even comes complete with an attachable storage sack.

Careful positioning of reflective fabric ensures you’ll be visible from all angles. The Pertex material offers good protection from the wind and great breathability, but at the cost of being only mildly resilient against rainfall.

The fit is fabulous and the jacket’s cut, combined with the numerous after-burner style vents, makes for a pleasant internal environment even during a long ride. Elasticated cuffs and hem ensure the garment stays where it’s intended.

Styling is a little basic but at £40 it’s a lot of jacket for your money. Overall, quality is good. Add to that the great fit and Montane have provided one of the testers’ lighter-weight favourites.
