Castelli Mortirolo Due cycling jacket

Pricey, but an excellent quality spring jacket from the Italian clothing giants

Definitely more of a spring jacket than a winter warmer, Castelli’s Mortirolo Due is another classy offering from the Italian clothing giants.

Named after one of the most difficult climbs in professional cycling, Castelli say that the Mortirolo is suitable for between 6-15°C, which we reckon is about right, but you’ll want a good baselayer at the bottom end of that range.

Although characteristically snug the fit is superb, and the zipped vents on the front are really useful for cooling down once you begin to work hard. Plus the gripper on the waist is very effective at stopping it from riding up.

We would’ve liked to see a zipped pocket on the back, but that’s being picky. It is pricey at £175, but it’s a quality item of kit from a premium brand and it’ll be worth it if it incentivises you to get out and put in the miles.
