Reviews Altura Strada Race Cape Waterproof

Altura Strada Race Cape Waterproof

The Strada is a packable waterproof cape that offers reasonable breathability thanks to sound material choice and shoulder panel venting.

Altura have added a number of reflective strips around the shoulders and waistband to keep you visible when the light begins to fade.

Zip quality was good and also included a large pull cord that even frozen hands would be able to manage. The waterproof fabric and fully taped seams make you sweat a fair bit, though.

Hence, this jacket is better suited for those who want maximum protection from the elements and are willing to sacrifice the resulting higher levels of perspiration.

The torso fit was acceptable but suffered from excess material in the arm – though to be fair, this is a not uncommon problem among bike jackets.

On the positive side, this fit may make it more run-friendly. But due to its fully waterproof fabric, you quickly overheat on foot, where you don’t have the increased airflow enjoyed when cycling.
