Pro SCIO Alti

Good looking and easy to use, but a touch fiddly to set up

The PRO Scio packs 21 functions into an impressively compact 38g package, including all the usual suspects such as variations on speed and distance.

Its USP, though, is the altimeter – hence the ‘alti’ in the name. The set-up is a little fiddly, and the enclosed instructions are unclear and very limited, but after about 20mins everything was attached and working perfectly.

Both the head unit mount and the speed sensor attach using elastic bands, so it’s easy to transfer from one bike to another.

The monochrome three-row display is easy to read, although the top and middle rows are reserved for altitude and current speed, so only the bottom is customisable.

The backlight is a great feature for low light conditions, while the standby mode is great for extending battery life.
