Earlier today England’s Jodie Stimpson broke free late on the run to win the first Commonwealth Games medal of 2014 and the Home Nation’s first-ever Commonwealth Games’ gold. Canada’s Kirsten Sweetland was second and Stimpson’s teammate Vicky Holland claimed third.
