Brighton-based athlete receives donation

Paul Winter, from Brighton, is celebrating after receiving a £500 donation from the MARS Refuel Drink Fund.

Paul began training for triathlon in 2007, going onto win local events in the same year and quickly becoming the UK number one ranked male in the 50-54 year old category. Since then Paul has gone from strength to strength, and has now been invited to join the British Team.

Paul added: “I have devoted my time completely to the sport, giving up my full time job to train and compete.

“The kind donation will pay for equipment such as a wheel set for my bike, as these can be very expensive and I receive very little funding.”

The MARS Refuel Drink Fund aims to help sports clubs and individuals to play sport for longer. Further information can be found at www.marsrefuel.com .
