Being rechargeable, the Wahoo Trackr answers the prayers of anyone who’s opened the battery hatch of a heart-rate strap to find a sweat-corroded mess. And in the Amazon US Prime sales, you can save on this innovative training device.

These days the best heart-rate monitors have long battery life, but when they run out you generally still have to replace a coin cell battery.

This task is sometimes not as easy as it should be. Whether you recycle the battery or not, it’s still a source of e-waste.

Wahoo has traded the 500hr run time of these rather old-school batteries for the lower stamina (100 hours claimed) of a rechargeable system.

In his four-star review of the Wahoo Trackr, James Witts concluded the brand had made an “accurate and comfortable chest strap”.

At just 1.4oz / 39g, it’s also one of the lightest straps around, is waterproof to IPX7 and supports multiple device connections over ANT+ and Bluetooth.

In the Amazon Prime Big Deals sale, it’s an even better propsition with 15% off.
