Tata Steel British Paratriathlon Championships open for entries in 2011

Paratriathlon Champs set for 14 May in Nottingham

The 2011 Tata Steel British Paratriathlon Championships is now open for entries. The event now in its fourth year will take place alongside the Nottingham Triathlon on 14 May at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.

British Triathlon expects the event to attract its biggest field to date, due to the natural growth of this exciting sport and the successful bid for inclusion in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Programme. To enter the event, please visit the One Step Beyond website: www.onestepbeyond.org.uk/british-paratriathlon-championships.php

In 2011, British Triathlon has made a number of improvements to the course at the National Water Sports Centre ensuring athletes can be as competitive as possible whilst remaining in a safe environment.

The event will be part of the new British Paratriathlon Ranking Series, ensuring there will be valuable points on offer, alongside coveted National titles.

The event also aims to drive participation within the sport, and British Triathlon would urge any athletes who are considering joining the paratriathlon community to take up the challenge. British Triathlon will have classifiers on hand the day prior to the event, to ensure all athletes have a disability class before competing.

Any questions relating to paratriathlon and getting involved in the sport should be directed to Jonathon Riall at: Jonathonriall@britishtriathlon.org
