Sir Chris Hoy launches Summer Cycling Challenge

The aim is to encourage families all over the country to get on their bikes and spend some QT together

Britain’s greatest Olympian Sir Chris Hoy has pushed off Highland Spring’s new Summer Cycling Challenge, with the goal of getting families all over the country to get on their bikes and spend quality time together this summer.

Launching on 1 July, Sir Chris is challenging British families to cycle a combined total of 100km over the course of eight weeks. Cycling is a fantastic way to stay active and, with the long weeks stretching ahead of them, it’s perfect for keeping kids entertained over the summer holidays.

Participants of the Summer Cycling Challenge can log their progress online at www.highland-spring.com, where they will be rewarded by messages from Sir Chris and virtual trophies when they reach Bronze (30km) and Silver (65km) milestones. Families who complete the challenge and cycle the full 100km will not only receive a downloadable gold trophy and certificate to share their success, but will also be entered into a draw to win a cycling prize package including merchandise signed by Britain’s greatest Olympian himself.

Sir Chris said: “The Highland Spring Summer Cycling Challenge gives families the perfect opportunity to do something free, fun and healthy this summer. There are great cycle paths throughout the UK, and the Challenge is a fantastic way to get out and explore your local area – parts that you probably don’t get to see from a car or a bus.”
