Pro Joe Skipper joins the Vachery field

Rising Brit star to take on middle-distance at the Surrey race

Pro triathlete Joe Skipper is the latest to announce his intentions to compete at the upcoming Vachery Triathlon Festival. Skipper will be racing over the middle distance (half-iron) come the 21 July at the Surrey-based event and will be looking to take the title in the first edition of Vachery’s middle-distance race.

Skipper made his iron-distance debut at Challenge Barcelona 2012 and came in fifth place with a time of 8:23:57.

Skipper said:

“I chose to do the race as it fits in great with my preparations for Ironman UK which I want to do well in. The course looks like it’s undulating as well which is great as it will be an honest race with the strongest guys coming out on top.

The Vachery Triathlon looks like it is set in a stunning location and also has a big prize pot so I’m looking to compete against a very strong domestic field.”

Vachery Triathlon has attracted a large, international field drawn by a large pro-purse and a course over the Surrey Hills – marked out as an ‘area of outstanding beauty’.

The Vachery Estate is located just outside Cranleigh in the Surrey Hills, only minutes from London and the motorways, M25, M23 and M3. Head to www.vacherytriathlon.co.uk
