Powerman (re)launches into the UK

Global duathlon brand Powerman launches UK race in Sherborne to take place on August 11...

Powerman, the global duathlon brand, is heading to Sherborne on August 11 for the debut of Powerman UK Sherborne (the brand last had a UK race at Carsington Water in 2003). The event will be a World Championship Qualifier for the Powerman World Champs 2013 in Zofingen, Switzerland.

Powerman UK is a duathlon event, comprising of a 10km run followed by a 60km bike and finishing with another 10km run. A long-course option is also available consisting of a 10km run, a 120km bike and a 20km run. Both events will run alongside one another, starting and finishing in Cheap Street, Sherborne.

As well as starting and finishing in Cheap Street, the race will be run on a lapped course taking in some of the historic sights of the town Sherborne Abbey, built in 705 AD. The bike course will be a return to familiar territory and bring back lots of memories as athletes will race a scenic loop of Dorset including the popular climb at Lyons Gate.

Entries will open very soon, and the organisers are expecting a great repsonse to this popular venue. For more details, please visit www.powermanuk.com, or follow us on Twitter @POWERMANUK.
