London Duathlon attracts 3,000 runners and cyclists

Last weekend's event heralded as the largest of its kind worldwide

Over 3,000 runners and cyclists turned up for the London Duathlon in Richmond Park last Sunday (15 August), competing over a range of distances from Super Sprint to Ultra Distance.

The annual duathlon event, claimed by organisers to be the largest of its kind, included: Ultra distance (20km run, 77km cycle, 10km run), Classic (10km run, 44km cycle, 5km run), Classic Relay (10km run, 44km cycle, 5km run), Sprint (10km run, 22km cycle, 5km run) and Super Sprint (5km run, 11km cycle, 5km run).

Among the winners were Jude Mcentee (winner of the men’s sprint distance race), Ryan Ostler (men’s ultra distance), Team RoadKILL (classic relay), Clare Miller (women’s classic) and Judy Fitton (women’s super sprint).

Next year’s event will take place on 14 September, 2014.
