Last chance to enter Ironman UK 2013

Just a week left to enter Bolton's Ironman UK, with demand higher than ever

If you’re looking to race Ironman UK, you better be quick as online entry will close next Wednesday 31 October.

Demand for entry into the endurance event, which takes place on Sunday 4 August 2013, has never been higher, with organisers having to close entries within a record 7 weeks.

The event comprises a 2.4 mile swim in Pennington Flash, a 112 mile cycle through the spectacular and challenging Lancashire countryside before finishing with a 26.2 mile looped marathon course in and around Bolton town centre, as the thousands of spectators cheer them all the way to the finish line in Victoria Square.

Organisers World Endurance UK are delighted to confirm that the event will once again act as a qualifying event for the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii.

Additionally, together with the support of Bolton Council, the event will continue to support the future generation with its IronKids run event, which attracted a sell out 1,000 children aged 3 to 15 this year. Entry to IronKids will open on Tuesday 30th October 2012.

Athletes can also combine their racing with making a significant contribution to charity through guaranteed entry slots available from Official Charity Scope, with an initial £99 to pay along with a commitment to fundraise £1,000 for their great cause. Athletes interested in finding out more about racing for Scope through one of these places should contact them via events@scope.org.uk
