Gossage wins Challenge Barcelona

GB's Lucy Gossage records biggest win of her career

Great Britain’s Lucy Gossage took victory at Challenge Barcelona-Maresme yesterday. Her sub-9hr time broke the course record. Dutchman Bas Diederen earned the first win of his long-distance career.

Lucy Gossage, who recorded a time of 8:58:43, was the great surprise of the women’s category. “When I competed in the first edition of Challenge Barcelona-Maresme in 2009, my time was 20mins more. I’m very happy with today’s result. It was incredible; the conditions were perfect and I very much enjoyed the whole circuit.”
