Follow in Bannister’s footsteps…

Sign up for the Worldwide Festival of Races on 10/11 October, and you'll get the chance to run on the famous Iffley Road "four minute mile" track

Now in its fourth year, the Worldwide Festival of Races is a global, virtual event that encourages participation in running at all levels, with races all over the world linked up online. This year, the event comes to historic Oxford for the first time, with the run races taking place in part along the Iffley Road track where Roger Bannister famously broke the four–minute barrier for the mile run, all those years ago.

The ‘Oxford Inspires’ run races, which form part of the virtual Worldwide Festival, include 5km, 10km and half-marathon options, and are free to enter. And with live streaming online, your Bannister-aping antics can be seen all over the world!
