Extra Kona qualifying places at Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Zurich

Increase in Kona qualifying places at a trio of European races

With only 1,700 age group athletes able to line up for the World Championships in Kona, competition around the globe for a place is always highly sought after. But good news has arrived from abroad as Frankfurt, Wiesbaden and Zurich all have further allocation in 2013.

The Frankfurter Sparkasse IRONMAN European Championship (July 7, 2013) has 100 qualification slots for the IRONMAN World Championship in Hawaii, an increase from the 75 offered this year.

The IRONMAN 70.3 European Championship in Wiesbaden (August 11, 2013) will be the only European IRONMAN 70.3 qualification race for Kona, offering 30 slots to athletes.

IRONMAN Switzerland in Zurich is offering an additional 10 slots, bringing its total to 60.

In order to compete in the World Championships, every athlete must qualify through the allocated qualifying races.
