Challenge Almere-Amsterdam to host ETU long-distance champs

Challenge Almere-Amsterdam has been selected to host two major tournaments next September: the 2014 ETU European Championship Long Distance Triathlon Championships, and the 2014 Dutch Championships.

“The European Championships at Challenge Almere-Amsterdam are a great boost for the event,” said Jaap Lodders, Deputy King’s Commissioner for the province of Flevoland.

“It fits seamlessly in the Flevoland policy of triathlon as a focus sport. Flevoland breathes triathlon!”

The official ETU European Long Distance Triathlon Championships and 2014 Dutch Triathlon Championships will take place on 13 September, 2014.

This year’s Challenge Almere-Amsterdam was won by Bart Colpaert (BEL) and Susan Blatt (GER) in times of 8:34:50 and 9:24:40 respectively.
