BucksMTB holds two-day challenge in spring

BucksMTB celebrates 10th anniversary with two day MTB challenge

This just in from the BucksMTB team…

BucksMTB turns ten years old in February 2012 so we decided we needed to do something special to mark the occasion. This event will mark the BucksMTB website being open for ten years and also the new face of BucksMTB Mountain Bike Club being open for over a year.

On 31 March and 1 April, we will hold a brand new two day mountain bike event on the Ridgeway. We are holding the event in partnership with local company Extreme Energy and the Event is called The Ridgeway200 Mountain Bike Enduro.

Both BMTB and Extreme Energy are delighted to introduce this brand new EXTREME distance multi-day Mountain Biking Challenge following the oldest roadway in the UK, dating back to 3000BC. The route follows the mountain bike route of the Ridgeway path from Wendover in Buckinghamshire to Swindon in Wiltshire, and back again! It will feature 200km over the two days, with 11,000ft of climbing.

This will be a tough but fun weekends mountain biking with everything, icluding accommodation and food, except the cycling taken care of by the BucksMTB/Extreme Energy team.

The event is not a race but a timed event with the opportunity to earn a Gold, Silver or Bronze standard. Riders will be set off in groups at 2-minute intervals.

The event is open to both individuals or teams, and is open to mountain bikers and cyclo-cross riders too!

BucksMTB official Club Members will be offered a special discount entry to this event. We hope that you will all find this an exciting new type of event, and we hope to welcome all of you to take part in this new challenging mountain bike event along with helping us celebrate over ten years in the mountain bike industry…here’s to many more to come.
