BTF announce date and location for British Aquathlon Champs 2011

British Triathlon has announced that the 2011 British Aquathlon Championships will take place on Saturday 30 July at Littlehampton Marina, West Sussex.

The announcement completes the British Championships calendar for 2011, which has already seen some inspiring performances with the British Duathlon Championships taking place earlier this month at the Clumber Classic.?

The event will be organised by Raw Energy Pursuits, who have been delivering the event at Littlehampton marina for five years, and will bring a wealth of experience to the domestic calendar.

Athletes will embark on a challenging 750m swim in the River Arun before they complete a 5km run finishing at the Marina. To enter the event, please visit: www.rawenergypursuits.co.uk.

Athletes are only eligible to win British Championship medals if they are a member of a Home Nation. To join your Home Nation, please visit www.britishtriathlon.org/join.

?Ian Braid, British Triathlon Director for Events, is looking forward to the event commenting: “The British Aquathlon Championships completes the calendar for 2011, and provides another perfect platform for our age group athletes to achieve their personal triathlon challenges. To take part in any of our British Championships is always an exciting occasion and at Littlehampton, I expect another memorable event.”
