Brighton Triathlon Cancelled

Due to be taking place on 5 September, the Brighton Triathlon has now been cancelled.

After some confusion on the forums, we’ve just noticed this on http://www.urbanrace.co.uk/brighton_triathlon.htm. Due to be taking place on 5 September, the Brighton Triathlon has now been cancelled.

The news reads:

“The Urbanrace team have been advised of a date change to the Brighton Triathlon 2009 that would have moved the race date to late October. This is due to other event’s dates on the site moving and cycle-path roadworks.

After considering the safety implications we feel this is too late in the season to put athletes into a sea-based open water environment. As a result we unfortunately have to cancel the Brighton Triathlon for 2009.

We have processed full refunds to all athletes who entered.”

The Brighton ‘Marina’ Triathlon, nonetheless, is still taking place on 20 September. www.theoriginalbrightontriathlon.co.uk will guide you further.
