50km race added to Challenge-X

50km option joins 100km at inaugural Dartmoor event

Due to popular demand, the Challenge-X course designer, former Royal Marine and three-times British Ironman winner, Chris Ray, has created a new 50km distance race to run alongside the original 100km race, taking place over the same weekend of the 10-11 August 2013.

The 50km will see the Dartmoor trail run and mountain bike course on day one reduced to 10km and 25km respectively from the 20km and 65km of the 100km distance race but the Royal Marines Commando Endurance Course on day two will remain at 15km for both races.

Both the 100km and the 50km can also be entered as a relay team so if there’s anyone who does not want to attempt the whole thing they can still get involved and raise money for injured Royal Marines as part of a team.

Entries are now open for both the new 50km distance and the original 100km race, more information can be found at the event’s website www.challenge-x.org.
