Scott Ride4

Thanks to the great man Dave’s history in Hawaii and the heritage of this fabled US brand, the name Scott has long been synonymous with triathlon.

In terms of performance, these provide a solid, hard ride. While there are softer shoes about not everybody enjoys such a cushioned feel. We’d argue that they’re a touch inflexible, but the Ride4 are designed for base mileage so that’s not really an issue. They aren’t out-and-out speed shoes; more good, solid winter workhorses.

The wide base gives enough room for a high arch, with Scott claiming these shoes can cope with runners weighing up to 95kg (80kg for the women’s shoe). If you’re a neutral runner without stability issues looking for a no-nonsense shoe, then these will certainly do the job.

Once again though, the UK distributor outlets for Scott seem to be limited.
