Fulcrum Racing 7

The eye-catching orangey/red rims and hubs make these beauties look several times more expensive than they actually are, and may prompt you to check the price several times before believing it.

The 24mm deep rims are strong enough to cope with winter roads without feeling as ‘clattery’ stiff as some deeper set-ups, and they still weigh in under 2kg. A wear indicator on the rim monitors lifespan, while stout hub bodies give central strength.

The 24-spoke rear uses a three-cross pattern with 16 spokes on the driveside and eight radially laced spokes on the other. Conventional spokes mean they’re easily replaced, and both Shimano and Campagnolo versions are available
