Skins Bib Shorts C400

Having made a significant impact in recent time with their high-end compression tights, Australian brand Skins has launched a range of cycling kit to the same high specifications.

At £150 these shorts are aimed at the Assos/Rapha end of the market with top-quality materials, fit and styling. Taking these points one at a time, the C400s start well with excellent warp-knitted fabric and a multi-density, comfortable chamois that boasts a long-lasting, anti-bacterial treatment. Fit is superb – as you’d hope from a company founded on making comrpession wear – with no seams or stitching in places vulerable to chafing or rubbing.

During the test period’s filthy weather, the shorts held their shape and support, looking as good as new after each wash. As long as you’re willing to hand over £150 for a pair of shorts without wincing, the C400s are a fantastic product.
