2XU Lite Membrane

2XU has developed a relatively lightweight waterproof jacket using a polyester/polyurethane mix. Taped seams and no vents demonstrate the company’s focus on creating a fully waterproof jacket. The results are positive with excellent water resistance and average breathability, making it more suitable for bad weather days only.

The fit isn’t particularly close, facilitating a microenvironment that helps disperse some of the heat generated by wear. The trade-off is that the on-bike fitting isn’t as good as it could be, with the arms being the biggest problem.

The torso fit isn’t too bad, though, and the weighted, grippy hem helps prevent the jacket riding up your back when crouched on the bike. The jacket fit would be suitable for running but you’d heat up very quickly.

Overall quality is high with neatly finished seam detailing. However, the plain appearance lacks the personality found in some other jackets and may not be to everyone’s taste.
