Liz O'Riordan is a consultant breast surgeon who was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in 2015. She had chemotherapy, a mastectomy and radiotherapy, and started an award-winning blog (liz.oriordan.co.uk - Breast surgeon with breast cancer) to talk about her experiences. She gives talks all over the world, including a TEDx Stuttgart talk, 'Jar of Joy', about how to help anyone with cancer. In 2018 she had a local recurrence of her breast cancer, and had surgery and more radiotherapy to treat it. She appeared on the final podcast of 'You, Me and the Big C' for BBC"s Radio 5 Live. She's the author of 'Under the Knife: Life Lessons from the Operating Theatre' and the co-author of 'The Complete Guide to Breast Cancer: How to Feel Empowered and Take Control'.
