Chris Hovenden

Chris is a freelance tech writer, keen triathlete and a qualified employment lawyer. He trained at Vizards Wyeth, qualifying in 2011, and later moved to international media company Discovery Channel to act as an in-house employment lawyer. During his four years at Discovery Channel, Chris advised the business on all aspects of employment law across EMEA and APAC. In 2016, he returned to private practice working at Cripps LLP (now Cripps Pemberton Greenish), where he advised employee and employer clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters. Chris subsequently joined the in-house EMEA employment law team of IT services provider Infosys Limited and built on his expertise of supporting HR and business stakeholders on international employment law issues. Chris joined Thomson Reuters Practical Law as a senior editor in June 2021.
