Use this 12-week training plan together with Back to Basics, beginning in issue 267, to get you race ready for 2012


It doesn’t matter if you’re new to triathlon, have completed a few races or are a seasoned veteran who wants to mix up their training programme, there’s something here for you.


Don’t be fooled by the ‘Back to Basics’ title – this isn’t just for beginners and will make every triathlete take a hard look at the fundamentals of performance.

This is the first of four 12-week training plans that’ll help you peak for the 2012 race season. It’s aimed at sprint and Olympic-distance triathletes with part one running from mid-November to early February.

Training comes to around 6-8hrs per week.
