K-Swiss Blade-Light Run

Here we have a more stripped-out option to stop your toes from overheating in hotter climes. The Blade-Light Run comes with plenty of ventilation thanks to its mesh upper and drainage holes, but this dark heat-absorbing colourway does seem to contradict that ambition somewhat. (Thankfully it comes in a variety of light colour options.)

The midsole combines cushioning, flexibility and a lightweight feel into a primarily single component, with only a smattering of outsole rubber to reduce wear.

The Blade-Light Run is a little soft in the forefoot, and there’s a moderate level of foot movement during impact, which starts to cause irritation the further we run. And while the construction is seam-free, the distinct contrast between material stiffness on the upper causes a little discomfort.

That said, this is still a well-built shoe and supportive compared to other lightweight alternatives.
