In the market for a superlight bike frame that can handle day-long rides and explosive races with equal aplomb? Boardman Bikes is working on something which may interest you - a superlight sportive frame platform developed by its special projects team.

Codenamed >B56 (in reference to founder Chris Boardman's 1996 absolute hour record of 56.375km), the new platform's specs, pricing and other details will be released later in the year.

However, the Boardman team has been busy testing the frame over the infamous Kitzbüheler Horn in Austria, and released a teaser video earlier today which shows it in action - see below.

"This is an exciting development from our R&D department," said Chris Boardman. "Two years in development and testing, the fine-tuned result is designed to cater for the rider who spends a lot of time in the saddle - either training, racing or purely for the love of cycling."
