New all-women race series Triathlon Pink has challenged itself to raise £1m for partner charity Breakthrough Breast Cancer by 2018, after achieving similar success in Australia.

The first UK Triathlon Pink race will be held in Crystal Palace, London on 1st June, with a range of distances on offer. Subsequent events will be held in Bath (8th June), Sunderland (29th June), Leeds (6th July) and Basildon (3rd August).

“Most of the women participating in a Triathlon Pink event this summer are taking part in their first triathlon," said Michaela Smith, Participation Manager for Triathlon Pink UK. "For many, it is a life-changing experience and their involvement in one of our events is the perfect catalyst to raise funds for a cause that so many women, and many of our participants, are directly affected by.”

Triathlon Pink has already been operating in Australia for seven years, where it has raised over AUD $1 Million dollars for breast cancer research. More information on this year's UK events can be found at www.triathlonpink.co.uk.
