National Champs set for Emberton Park

The annual Triathlon England – National Triathlon Championships take place on Sunday 19 August at Emberton Country Park, and places are now available for members to book their spot and showcase their talent in the beautiful Buckinghamshire countryside where an English Champion will be crowned.

The National Triathlon Championships is a standard distance race format, which includes a 1,500m open-water swim in the lake at Emberton Country Park, a 40km bike consisting of one lap around undulating country roads and then onto a 10km run course, three laps of Emberton Country Park. The race will start at 7.00am and transition will open at 5.15am.

Duncan Hough, Triathlon England Director Events, Rules and Technical, said: “We are delighted to hold this Championship event again this year and can’t wait to see the range of athletes this challenge brings together to compete. Triathlon is growing from strength-to-strength and to gain a title such as this is a magnificent achievement for any participant.

“It’s our aim to get more people active in triathlon, no matter what your ability, and we believe that events such as the National Triathlon Championships are ideal to improve awareness of the sport and ensure everyone who takes part has a fun and enjoyable experience.”

Big Cow Events will again host both the Triathlon England – National Triathlon Championships and the Triathlon England – National Club Championships at Emberton Country Park.
