Triathlon regulars and beginners can now register for Leonard Cheshire Disability’s award-winning triathlon event, Tri Together.

Tri Together is a unique short distance triathlon open to people of all ages and abilities to swim, bike and run together. Following the success of the award-winning Tri Together 2012, when over £70,000 was raised, the event is expanding to two new locations this year: Lancaster and Glasgow.

To meet popular demand, Leonard Cheshire Disability has also lowered the entry age so children from the age of eight can now sign up for one of the five junior races.

Tri Together Lancaster, in partnership with COLT Triathlon Club and Lancaster City Council, will take place on Sunday 7 July at Salt Ayre Leisure Centre.

Tri Together London, in partnership with GLL, returns for a third year to Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Sunday 1 September.

Tri Together Glasgow, in partnership with triathlonscotland, will take place on Sunday 22 September at Bellahouston Sports Centre.

There will be a number of race categories: Adult, Youth (15-16 yrs), Tri Star 3 (13-14 yrs), Tri Star 2 (11-12 yrs), Tri Star 1 (9-10 yrs) and Tri Start (8 yrs). Adults taking part in the Glasgow event also have the option to compete in a Mega Mini Triathlon, which is a shorter distance event.

The Leonard Cheshire Disability events team can offer support and guidance throughout. This includes a full training guide that has been developed in conjunction with Swim For Tri and the opportunity to attend free, practical training sessions with one-to-one coaching and advice (dates to be confirmed soon).

To sign up for one of the events, or to find out more about race categories and distances please visit www.lcdisability.org/tritogether or text TRI to 80878*. Race entry is from £22 for adults and £10 for children and minimum sponsorship applies.
