Rebecca who won a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics for cycling and is now a performance coach and an Ironman competitor, said: “I'm really looking forward to passing on training tips to participants at the Active Training World Train'athlon. I know what challenges triathletes face in each of the disciplines so we are aiming to encourage beginners, as well as pass on valuable advice to more experienced triathletes.”

Rebecca will be supported by other top elite coaches including Tanja Slater, Sydney Olympian Sian Brice and cycling legend Leda Cox, Elite cyclist and coach Jez Cox and teenage sporting talent Sky Draper.

This training day is open to triathletes of all abilities. Groups will be split into beginners, intermediate and regular triathletes on the day so that the coaches can tailor the sessions to meet people’s needs. Individuals who have not yet completed a triathlon, but want to learn will be taught exactly how to cope with their first triathlon race.

The day covers swim techniques, cycling skills, running drills and transition coaching to ensure all the disciplines are covered and will be supported by Yoga guru Charli Sales who will also run a session on how to avoid injury and build up strength during a low impact session.

James Shipley, founder of Active Training World, and a keen triathlete for nearly 20 years, said: “It's a great training event and a fantastic opportunity for people of all abilities to pick up valuable tips and advice to help improve their triathlon performance.”

The event is being held at St Margaret's School in Bushey on Saturday April 13 2013 from 8am until 5pm. Entry costs £90 and includes breakfast, lunch, training sessions in swimming, cycling, transition and running techniques and yoga. Participants will also receive a free event T-shirt and swim cap.
