‘From the Lakes to the Mountains’ – does a race series set in UK national parks involving paddle boarding, off-road biking and running appeal?

After hosting their first #supbikerun event in the South Downs last year, the organisers are planning three events for 2015, starting in the familiar (for triathletes) setting of Wimbleball Lake this May.

Each event will be limited to 250 participants and involve fixed distances of 3km paddle boarding, 30km off-road biking and 5km trail running. There will also be training and taster sessions held in the run-up to each event at each of the three venues, which are:

Event #2 – Wimbleball Lake, Exmoor National Park, Somerset – May 17th 2015. Set in the rolling hills of the West country in the stunning Exmoor National Park, with its steep valleys and purple heather.

Event #3 – Carsington Water, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, Derbyshire – July 12th 2015. Right on the border of the beautiful Peak district, the lake is surrounded by lush gradual green hills as they rise up to the Peak District National Park in the near distance.

Event #4 – Westhampnett Lake, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, West Sussex – 20th September 2015. Back to where it all began, with strong support and feedback from participants in the first event, the organisers are returning with a new bike course and challenging event.

Key sponsors include Surfdome, Specialized bikes and Muc-Off. For more info head here.
