Stimpson is guest of honour at Absolute Triathlon Club’s Awards
Olympic hopeful Jodie Stimpson attended Absolute Triathlon Club's annual awards dinner at the weekend

Jodie commented, "They were a great set of young athletes and I am sure I am going to have to be looking out for them soon. It was fantastic to be able to meet so many people who share the love of triathlon with me."
The adults and junior club members subsequently took their places at the evening event where Miss. Stimpson presented the various Awards before answering a number of questions from the audience and talking about her life as a triathlete and her hopes for 2012.
Club Chairman Steve Lloyd said “I would like to thank Jodie for attending our celebration and making the whole day and evening very special. She is a fantastic role model for our Junior Club members and a great ambassador for Triathlon. Congratulations also go to all of our worthy award winners and here’s to a fantastic 2012”.
The awards presented to the seniors included Male Triathlete of the Year – Chris Bennett, Female Triathlete of the year – Pamela Dutton, Rookie of the Year – Catriona Wynne, Volunteer of the year – Malcolm Ray and the important spirit of the club award jointly awarded to – Nick Bestwick, Helen Ward and Vicki Watson. The winner of the John Anderson Trophy was John Budworth for his performance at the Club’s nominated championship event – Erewash Triathlon with the Karen Green Trophy awarded to Catriona Wynne for the same event.
Junior awards went to Male Junior Triathlete of the Year – Sammy King, Female Junior Triathlete of the Year – Alana Meenan, Most Improved Junior male – Latrell Wynter and Most improved junior Female Sophie Marsden.
